Near Field Communication (NFC) can be described as an advancement in RFID technology. Based on the same principles, NFC uses short-range wireless technologies to enable connections and transactions to transmit information and content with one simple wave or touch. NFC typically operates at a frequency of 13.56 MHz and a distance of 4 centimeters or less. Just like the passive RFID technology, near field communication requires a “reader” and a “sender”. NFC-enabled mobile phones act as reader while at the same time creating the RF field that powers passive “senders” to divulge their information or initiate transactions. The sender of the information can be any kind of transponder ranging from cards, tickets, labels, and stickers to tags in various forms and sizes.it’s normally used for payment, access control, anti-counterfeiting, etc.
