Why this handhel
Five things that change how a shift runs
Every point below maps to a row in the parameter table — no claims that cannot be checked.
01
8–25 m UHF reads with a 4 dBi antenna
The HC720S uses a 4 dBi spiral antenna and EPC Class 1 Gen 2 / ISO 18000-6C protocol, with a stated effective read distance of 8–25 m depending on the tag used. That is the difference between walking a rack aisle and physically touching every carton.
Spec: 4 dBi antenna · EPC C1G2 / ISO 18000-6C
02
Four air interfaces in one device
Beyond UHF, the same unit reads HF at 13.56 MHz (ISO/IEC 14443A/B and ISO 15693), LF at 125 kHz and 134.2 kHz, and NFC at 13.56 MHz — each at roughly 3–5 cm. One handheld covers mixed-tag sites instead of three.
3.7 V / 10,000 mAh removable lithium polymer, rated at about 8 hours of use with over 300 hours standby. Removable matters operationally: a depleted pack is swapped in seconds rather than ending a shift at a charging dock.
Spec: 10,000 mAh · ~8 h use · >300 h standby
04
Built for yards, not just warehouses
IP65 sealing to IEC specifications, a 150 cm drop rating with the unit powered on, and a six-side tumble test to 1,000 cycles. Operating range −20 °C to 50 °C, storage −20 °C to 60 °C, 95% non-condensing humidity.
Spec: IP65 · 150 cm drop · 1,000 tumble cycles
05
Android 12 with optional data-capture modules
MTK6763 octa-core at 2.0 GHz with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage (2/4 GB and 16/64 GB options), on a 5.7" 1440×720 IPS display. Optional 2D scan engine (Zebra SE4710, CM60 or NLS-N1 at 5 mil), optional FBI PIV FAP10 fingerprint module at 508 dpi, plus a 13 MP autofocus rear camera. Modules are specified at order — they are not field-retrofit items.
Bulk UHF reads without line of sight, so an aisle is counted without unloading pallets. The long read distance lets one operator cover racking that would otherwise need a ladder.
Retail
Back-of-house and receiving
Pair UHF case-level reads with the optional 2D engine for barcode-only supplier labels — one device for both label types, instead of a reader and a separate scanner.
Outdoor
Inspection and asset audits
Field crews working rain, dust and drop-prone sites: IP65 sealing, a 150 cm drop rating, 4G and GPS for live upload straight from the yard.

Questions buyers ask
Frequently asked questions
What is the read range of the HC720S?
8–25 m for UHF, depending on the tag. The unit uses a 4 dBi spiral antenna with EPC Class 1 Gen 2 / ISO 18000-6C protocol. Actual range varies with tag type, orientation and the RF environment on site — validate with your own tags before specifying a distance in a project plan.
Which UHF frequency bands are available?
China 920–925 MHz, US 902–928 MHz and EU 865–868 MHz. Confirm the band for your destination market when ordering — the regulatory band is a configuration decision, not an afterthought.
Can it also read HF, LF and NFC tags?
Yes. HF 13.56 MHz with ISO/IEC 14443A/B and ISO 15693, LF 125 kHz and 134.2 kHz, and NFC 14443A — each at approximately 3–5 cm. Useful on mixed sites where pallets carry UHF labels but access cards or asset tags are HF/LF.
What does IP65 and the drop rating actually cover?
IP65 is dust-tight plus protection against water jets, stated to IEC sealing specifications. The drop rating is 150 cm with the unit powered on; the chassis is also tumble-tested to 1,000 cycles across six sides. Operating temperature −20 °C to 50 °C, storage −20 °C to 60 °C.
How long does the battery last?
Rated about 8 hours of use and over 300 hours standby on a 3.7 V / 10,000 mAh pack. Real runtime depends on scan duty cycle, screen brightness and radio usage — a continuous-scan shift will sit below the rated figure. The pack is removable, so a spare extends the shift.
Can I add a 2D barcode scanner or a fingerprint reader?
Yes, both are factory options. The 2D engine is available as Zebra SE4710, CM60 or NLS-N1 with 5 mil optical resolution; the fingerprint module is a capacitive FAP10 unit at 508 dpi with single-frame capture at 0.25 s or faster. Specify at order — these are not field-retrofit items.
Will it run our WMS or ERP application?
It runs Android 12 on an MTK6763 octa-core with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage, plus 4G, dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4/5 GHz), Bluetooth 5.0 BLE and GPS. Standard Android applications install normally. For SDK-level access to the UHF module, confirm availability of the SDK and API documentation with us before committing to a development timeline.
How do I get pricing, MOQ and a sample?
Send your configuration — frequency band, optional modules, quantity and destination market — through the inquiry form, and we will quote against that specification.
